Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

An EPC is a document which shows you the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of a
Property that you rent from us. The property is given a rating between A and G and this is displayed
on a chart which looks very similar to the energy rating given to domestic
appliances such as fridges and washing machines.

From 4th January 2009, we require a EPC for all properties we wish to let.
We will make a copy of the EPC available to tenants at the outset of a new tenancy.
Any landlord who does not provide an EPC may be guilty of committing a criminal offence and could incur a fine of up to £5,000.
